Look around you they are everywhere. Stop, do not go, do not enter, speed limit, no j-walking, put garbage in proper receptacle, not an exit, caution slippery when wet, form line here, not for public use, take a number and wait, no refunds, limit one per person and so on and so on....... There are other signs that are not as clearly marked but are even more important. The current collection of "natural" disasters, Severe weather in the form of hurricanes, tornadoes, cyclones, heatwaves and blizzards, Earth shaking events such as Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, flooding and draught are all "signs". Signs of what we have done and a glimpse into our future. These Signs are also being ignored and/or Dismissed as just a period of strong storms that will pass in time and everything will revert to "normal". Look just a little fraction deeper and you will see... These events are far from "normal" they are increasing in numbers and severity. How many times have we heard "worst on record, largest since record keeping began, most in 100 years, never before has there been so many......?" The SIGNS are everywhere, we all better start to heed them or face dire consequences. We can not afford to pay these fines! Here is a "sign of the Times" for you. The president of the United states of America, someone, you would assume, who has access to all the "real" data, would understand the problem. Yet, after his daughters wedding the only statement he made was that he hopes he will be given grandchildren....."soon and many" is how I think he worded it. The Earth is now trying to support 7 billion people on what scientists all say, are the resources that can handle no more than 3 billion people. We surpassed the "tipping point" and all though we have been warned and given many signs along the way of what was to be, we only pressed down harder on the accelerator. We are speeding through the red lights and it's just a matter of time before disaster arrives at an intersection just as we do....So, I say to you Mr President, "Sooner" would be a good thing because there is little hope for a later. And "many" is a good thing, for it will speed up the process, so then we will all not have "that" long to suffer...............
