Why, must we continue on a path, that we can say without doubt, will lead us to very dark times? The warning signs are everywhere you look! Can it be we are illiterate to the language? What other possible excuse can there be? Those signs are even the universal language of danger, bright red and flashing. Yet, onward we march. Charge forward into oblivion as though our feet are glued to a conveyor belt and we are unable to get off. Have we just excepted it as our fate, without ever picking up arms? Now is the time to fight! We are always eager to take up arms against one another to protect what we have from those who are threatening to take it from us. Now we are all threatend and what do we do? We cower in own corner of our little made up lives hoping others will defeat the enemy before they get to us. The enemy is you(us).......................We are all closer to ourselves than to our friends. Giving truth to the statement, "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer."

If you watched the news(any news) in the last two days, you are aware of the death of a 66 yr old retired veternarian do to a shark (Great White) attack. He was swimming, as he and a dozen others did three times a week, while in training for a triatholon in the murky waters of Southern California. The attack was typical of a Great White going after it's "normal" food source, the seal. It attacks from dark depths below and is usually done with enough speed and violence to propel both the shark, all est 1500 lbs of him, and the victim into the air. In the very rare case of a mistaken identity, which unfortunately for the victim still doesn't bode well, the shark usually abandons the mistaken prey and swims off, as it did in this case. But, the single strike from a evolutionary biologically perfected killer, is all that is really needed. Now, I have mentioned in several posts that humans (mostly Chinese for shark fin soup or used in some ritual) kill over 100 MILLION sharks per year! The even more horrible fact is that most are rounded up in a massive kills(hunts) that begins with crop dusters chumming an area of the ocean up two 2 miles! Sharks can detect one drop of blood in over a billion gallons of water, so you can imagine the area sharks are drawn from. They are pulled aboard giant industrial fishing ships, their fins are cut off, and while still alive, thrown back in the sea to drown (sharks must move to breath) or become a last supper for other unsuspecting sharks. World wide on the average there are approx 7-10 attacks per year resulting in an average of 5 deaths! With billions of humans entering their backyard, I would say we are pretty lucky. I don't so feel bad when they get one of us. What type of revenge would humans extract on sharks if 100 million people were killed. The fate of this one lone Great White, if able to be caught, will be a sure death. They will also probably kill a few innocent ones in the process. Before finding the "guilty" one. Guilty of what?Because in it's normal course of trying eat, in a world that has all ready made it more difficult by reducing it's natural food, it made a mistake and took a bite out of one of us, it's only known threat! The irony lies in the fact that this man devouted his life to saving and healing animals. Just as with the accidental death of Steve Erwin from a stab in the heart from a sting ray. The animals are not "out to get us" we are out to get them. We have caused the extinction of more species in the last 100 yrs than of all extictions since the creation of life on Earth! Everyday we lose a hundred more totaling over 35,000 a year, due to our lack of understanding, greed and negligence. THATS 35 THOUSAND LIFE FORMS A YEAR THAT WILL NEVER EXSIST AGAIN!. Everyday we slaughter millions and millions of live stock to feed our over popoulated planet. We put to sleep millions of unwanted or stray pets. They breed, because we don't prevent them from breeding, as they are our responsibility. We hunt and kill another million or so every year so we can hang their severed heads on our wall or use their limbs for "fancy" table legs or coat racks. We "exterminate" millions of "pests" each day because we classify them as unhealthy or harmfull to the our world. I for one would classify humans as unhealthy or harmfull to the our world(and theirs) good thing the "other" animals on this planet don't see it my way, they still out number us a billion to one. Isn't it nice to know they don't hold a grudge and are willing to forgive and forget..... Those are examples of intentional killings. Then you have those animals that just get in our way. Like bugs on your windsheild must number in the billions and those animals we run over or hit with our cars, boats and planes. Let that great creature that has graced this planet for millions of years, before we came along, go on it's way. It is smart enough not to make the same mistake twice. Thankfully, Sharks don't like the way we taste. I think we probably taste toxic. No wonder, they say you are what you eat! from that single interaction the shark has learned....I wish we could learn too, not to make the same mistakes over and over....

I am sorry for beginning my state of the Union piece and then abandoning it for the moment. I had made plans to attend the Protest of the Olympics when the Torch relay arrives in San Fran tomorrow. It's been very chaotic since I arrived. I would like to comment on the recent events in London and Paris yesterday. The message that I hoped would be in the forefront about the atrocities carried out by China in Darfur and Tibet have been overshadowed by the few who attend the protest with the intention of violence. They are destroying the hopes of many here that know if those scenes are all that is shown on the news it defeats the entire thing! Protesting violence with violence makes no sense. As Ghandi said, "An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind!" Those that are carrying out these acts are a very very small percentage of who attends. I know of no one or group that has come to San Fran to do anything but to take one of the only public chances Americans have of voicing outrage of China and it's actions! I will finish my SOTU(state of the union) piece soon. ALSO- I would like to start a campaign to have Pres. Bush arrested, yes, I said arrested, for crimes against humanity, if he attends (he has all ready RSVP)and sits next to a Chinese leader that has been directly involved in the massacre of 1oo's of thousands in Darfur and continues that at this moment along with his oppression of peoples in Tibet. IF he goes he should not be allowed back or should taken into custody to stand trial when Air-force one touches back down on American soil. Soil that was saturated with the blood of individuals who died so we could be free of those types of horrors that China is carrying out!

I have a couple of posts here that give some background. See you Sanfransico!!

This post will be the most important one I've written to date. It will be an Illuminating look at not just the current state of our Union, (It will not be the view seen through the rose colored glasses or heard spoken in lies by "Our" current President) But the actual place we are today. Not opinions or biases. Not exaggerated to cause panic. It will be a real look, based on the real facts of what we have done and what we've become. I wont make any unnecessary predictions on where it is going to take us. That will be left to the individual reader and his or her on understanding of the facts and how they will process them. I want to also take an opportunity to thank those who have supported me since I began to write. I hope I have improved enough, to not have the way I write detract from what I write. I am not sure if I will continue to post. I don't feel that I'm reaching enough people and of those I'm reaching, I'm not sure I'm getting through. I have strayed often on many posts from the main purpose here and I know that has diluted the seriousness of my message. I will have to post periodically here and then continue on this same post. This is because I have apparently collected some enemies along the way,( could be any number of reasons and people who would rather not have me be seen nor heard. They may just get their wish anyway)So, If I write too much before I submit it, it gets deleted right in the middle as I'm typing and I have to start all over again. It doesn't seem to matter if I use the work palette or not? I also have been made aware that my e-mails are being intercepted and re-routed somewhere into the abbis of cyberspace. If you have sent e-mails to me in the last month or so I may not have received them, nor has anyone received any from me. Enough on that. OK, I have posted many writings on many different topics, some are not relevant, but those that are will now be connected, to help give you a very clear picture. I will not be commenting about "conspiracy theories" or faith based predictions of Biblical prophecies nor that of the beliefs of ancient civilization or historical individuals. I'm going to state, "The whole truth and nothing but the truth"(New York Times) It is what it is.....First, I will cover our current environment and this one doesn't include the physical sciences such as weather, ecology and ecosystems but is, the more I have thought about it, the most important one because it dictates how we relate to all the other environments. Here are the definitions of Environment from the dictionary. The external conditions, resources, stimuli, etc with which an organism interacts. 1) the aggregate of surroundings things, conditions of influences surrounding 2)the social and cultural forces that shape the life of a person or population 3)ecology-the air, water, mineral, organism and all other external factors surrounding and affecting a given organism at any one time. It was in reading these characteristic that a powerful illumination of our world came to me. You see it's these intangible aspects of our environment that have the power to create change in our actions, they are the foundations that structure our entire lives. It's called "milieu", those things you can't reach out and grasp, yet they have the ability to take hold of us. They allow us to make changes, or with equal strength, prevent us from making changes. They alter our moods and set the tone of our consciousness. It is how and why we act socially. It is the steering mechanism driving our culture. Those environmental intangibles have today created a culture of hate, fear, mistrust, apathy and hopelessness. They now have us positioned in the direct path of a "Perfect Storm". A Perfect Storm is one that increases it's strength and effect by the interactions of many smaller storms that all converge at one time and at one spot. We now stand directly in that spot and we have very little time to take cover. We have ignored so many signs of it's coming because of the environment we have all created. You've all heard, That's just fear mongering, it's a conspiracy theory, that will never happen, what am I to do about it, nothing is going to change anyway, its not my fault, it's not my responsibility, I have my own problems, what can I do, I'm only one person, wont happen in my life time.. and on and on... Well, I'm sorry to inform you that all those statements are incorrect and IT WILL HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFETIME! IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! Here are the variables that we are all aware of that have now gathered to create the biggest and baddest "Perfect Storm". Our country is free falling into the eye of that storm. We are now deeply entrenched in a Recession, no matter what lies you believe from Bush. The Dollar is falling in rapid devaluation, causing the US dollars to be sold off worldwide. The real estate crash will worsen because homes and condos were being hugely over built. The markets that had been boom are now bust. Some that have coast-lines with high priced properties wont be able to give them away, as the reality of rising sea levels and increased strength of hurricanes due to climate changes becomes evident. Drought and lack of available drinking water will also effect markets built in areas that should never have been built in the first place(Veges). The real killer of real estate will arrive soon, as gas prices rise out of sight and eventually we run out of it. We have built a society on movement, commuting from the suburbs to jobs in cities days are numbered. As those gas prices sky rocket the cost of living will hitch a ride. We buy apples from overseas? When they can and are grown in your neighborhood! The energy crunch has just now getting real attention, now when it's ALL MOST too late to make the changes to prevent a total breakdown of our transportation systems. Job losses due to a weakened economy and the continued fall of realistate market are at levels not seen in 30 yrs. We are not only losing between 40 and 65 thousand jobs per month since the beginning of the year, but we on the norm increase the number of people looking for a job by around 100 thousand each and every month. That is a double edged sword thats cutting the net that hold our economy from collapse. As gas prices continue so will the cuts, less travel will hit certain industries hard, but everyone will suffer. Now, You have heard the out cry of towns who have lost companies to overseas and now have entire populations that once depended on a single large employer, unemployed and no where to go. This is going to begin to stress our all ready stressed unemployment services and gov assistance programs. Many regional banks are now in financial trouble. Construction loans that went bad and forcloser right offs have all ready caused one bank to close causing a run on it by customers fearful losing thier life savings. The FDIC has stepped in and covered the losses for those customers. But need 25% of the FDIC reserve to do so! That was just one bank.... there WILL be others. The government has been financially run into the ground by wanton waste, misappropriations, failed contracts and outright fraud and theft.(ever wonder why no one is looking for or mentions the 12 billion, yes 12 BILLION in cash that was sent to Iraq to "stimulate the economy" and upon arrival in a cargo plane, the palettes of stacked 100 dollar bills disappeared!) That was your hard earned tax dollars well spent! Billions spent on programs that never get off the ground, are mismanaged or fail horribly. 12 Billion of your taxes being spent on earmarks, that's slang for kickbacks to friends of Senators and Congressmen who are "owed" for their "contributions" to help their elections. We spend 400 Billion a year on a military budget and still have to borrow 500 billion from China(of all countries) to fund a war In Iraq that has destroyed any chances of mending ties with a radical Muslim population that is hell bent on wiping both Israel and the USA of the map permanently. That war that cost 2 billion a week and will reach a trillion dollars before it's all said and done, has caused more damage to our citizens and raised the threat to our security, then all previous wars grouped together. We now have a foreign debt of 9 trillion dollars, once again more than all previous Presidents debt combined! The number of elected officials that have been caught(its just the tip of the iceberg that we are going crash into) breaking the very laws they themselves enacted has exploded to a pace higher than crime rates rise among the other Americans. With all that the local and state governments are now cutting the budgets of the single most important institution in America. SCHOOLS! Then we wonder why we can't attract teachers from the top 25% of colleges graduates but wind up with the lowest 25%. Last year the number of schools that were classified as "Dropout Factories" rose to over 1500 nationwide. On the average only 58% of our "hope for the future" will graduate from high school. Some urban cities like Detroit, Cleveland and Pittsburgh have a drop out rate of nearly 75% SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT DROP OUT! That is our future. BREAK IM SURE YOU NEED ONE RIGHT ABOUT NOW... MUCH MUCH MORE And I'm sorry for this tone but it must be understood..
