"Life" is an adverb, its meant to be lived!

"The great beauties of our world" by Joram nov 2007 He among you, that has not traveled this grand and beautiful world, cannot appreciate life, or truly appreciate what you have, untill you have seen in person those that have not. To witness a sunrise, on Aluroo(AYRES ROCK)in the outback or hear the night come alive in the amazon. To view the great glaciers in Patagonia and Alaska to marvel at the Aurora bora Elias(northern lights)in the arctic. to sip tea on the Yangtze and sail into shag-hi.To raft rivers, gorged into the earth,or feel in person, the rumble of a shuttle launch. To peer over the edge of the cliffs of mo-yer and stare at and wonders of Stonehenge . To gorge your senses and soak up life on Greek isles, to camp in the wilderness and sleep under the heaven's. to kayak with orcas in the Tasman sea or Cris cross America by car.To walk in Darwins footprints and meet lonesome George. I've been surrounded by children and swallowed up by their laughter, been there when they've fallen to wipe their tears. Sat and listend while they tell you their fears. I have lived well and loved often. I've experienced the high life-The QE2 to England and the Concord home. I've lived in the fast lane-driven a Nascar around a track and raced a dirt bike up and back. Ive jumped from airplanes that were perfectly good and gotten closer to a Polar bear than anyone should. You haven't lived until you have stepped out side your comfort zone and taken risks. They say life is a journey, not a destination, but, its only the destination that allows you to view your own world and appreciate it. Joram Feb. 2007 A poem by Max Ehrmann(Deserata) I have had this poem in some written form in my life since my second year of college(1980) And often go long periods without reading. But, when i do dig it out from where ever it has settled, it only takes the first few words to remind me why i have saved it.........Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there is in silence. As far as possible, without suurendering, be on good terms with all persons, speak your truth quitly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud andaggressive persons, they are vexious to the spirt. If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lessor persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements, as well as your plans. Keep intrest in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you, to what vertue there is. Many people strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism . Be yourself, especially do not feign affection, nor be cycnical about love. For in the face of all its aridity and dienchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. Do not distress yourself with dark imaginigs, many fears are born of fatique and lonliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle to yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars and time; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. There for be at peace with God, whatever you concieve that to be. And whatever your labors and aspiritions, in the noisy confussion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world, strive to be happy.

 half empty or half full

An optimist is a person who thinks that this is the best of all possible worlds. A pessimist is someone who fears that this is true. There is a feeling I've gotten about my neg tone these days........ how we view the world is as simple as this, is the glass half empty or half full? I have always viewed it as half full, which is the consummate optimist's view, instead of half empty which is the neg view. I have now seen the glass, as if for the first time, in a new view. the glass is half full, but with the next sip it then begins to be more empty than full. its the realists view. without change the glass will continue to drain. if i am to truly engage, i must come to that realization. so, those of you that whisper of my sanity, and my neg attitude be clear... I have always and will always love life, people. i believe in the triumph of good over evil. i believe this is the most incredible world with unlimited potential. i believe in strength of human kind. i believe in you and me. and in believe in tomorrow. here is the realists view of thanksgiving around the world. NYC, Macy's day parade, wind keep balloons flying low, slight rain doesn't dampen spirits. Baghdad, 6 car bombs explode killing 160, injuring hundreds more.....Darfur, 3oo,ooo dead, untold no. raped, another 1,000,000 refuges. America sits down for thanksgiving feast. world, over a half a billion people(200,000,000 children)will go to bed with an empty stomach, only to wake to an uncertain future. Black Friday(biggest shop day of the year). Around America, hundreds injured in stampedes for rights to early holiday specials. around the world, riots kill hundreds in Lebanon over assassination of leader(Hezbollah believed at fault)sectratarion violence erupts over car bomb deaths Iraq on the brink...and on and on and on. do you see the glass now????hope all your "butterballs" were succulent and savory.

a little about me as well

Well, I sure have learned a lot about writing, listening and my self during the early stage of my blog. And now i will try and infuse some of that"illumination" on to my blog and in my work. I want to thank those people that have made comments both on the blog and to me personally, they are Welcome, valued and helpful. please keep them coming.. I took a few days off to digest it all. Now, after coming back and reading my own blog, i too gave it some constructive criticisms.. I can clearly see how it all seems a bit negative and i come off a bit(a lot) like ,the title of one of my blogs suggests. The rantings and ravings of a mad man. In reality i am mad, mostly at myself for not getting started sooner in my life, being involved not with myself and striving for success, but with but using what i have been given and have gained to help others. So, that little bit about me. I grew up in a very small town in upstate NY(Wells)and attended college at SUNY Plattsburgh, were I graduated(barely) in 1984. I moved to Boston and entered the health club business, first as a trainer/ janitor, then as a manager for a natl health club chain and eventually towards ownership. I was very successful(ACTUALLY VERY LUCKY)in my endeavors up until recently. I had opened 4 clubs in Boston all which i sold off individually. Then three in Miami, were i was not nearly as lucky or obviously as successful. I have had a blessed life up until now and i believe its time for me to give back something in order to keep the scale from tipping over(actually I want the etching on my tombstone to be honest and its going state simply "He gave more than he took")..I am honored with a group of friends, that have always overlooked my flaws(too many to mention here)and supported me in any and all(except maybe this one- unfortunately)endeavors. I have always tried to honer them and even though we are separated for long times or long distance they remain close in thoughts. My family consists of two younger sisters (Sami and Justi) the rest have gathered somewhere in the cosmos, for the eternal party. I should correct something, those sisters are whats left of by biological family, my friends have become my family also. Now, i have really tried to live my life by a set of rules. They my not be the rules everyone follows, but to each his own. I am most definitely not proud of everything i have done, or do. but i refuse to allow myself to do anything that i will be ashamed of. I have had some not so good or happy things happen to me starting at a very young age and continuing on through my adult life....... none of which is all that different then other peoples suffering. I will not be talking about "me" or "MY" problems on this Blog. Unless it is directly related and will help a point be better understood I will not allow those events that were not of my control to burden me for more than a short while. Usually just long enough to think of some why i can take lesson from it. I've been married twice, with the second officially being over the end of Nov 06.. and i promised my self that three wont be a charm, shame on me for sec one... shoot me if i mention a third!!!!!! Any way, because i lived in that conform or be persecuted type world i have kept much of I'm babbling about these interests to my self(i think i may have slipped up once or twice at some time, probably at a party i should have left hours ago or probably not even attended) well, lucky for everyone, i no longer conform and i'm not concerned about what people will say when i express myself(you know, Tom Cruise on Operas couch). All I'm trying to accomplish here is to shed some light(illuminate) on some "potentially" bad things, or have just one person read something I wrote, and have it trigger something in them that moves them to get involved. At the very least to question your surroundings and know we are all concerned about that which is within arms reach but look beyond that world for an instant and see the Big picture....
